Hollywood Family

I've been envious of all those family pictures I've seen over the past few years...you know, the ones which make the families look like famous, good looking movie stars...taken on location is aesthetically pleasing settings versus the Penny's Studio. And I am feeling like we, my family, are in the prime window for cuteness. I mean, my boys aren't going to get any cuter being they are currently all under five, and my husband and I aren't getting any younger.

So, we took the photo shoot plunge....it was stressful. First my niece was coming with us and was being dropped off by a friend who was over an hour late. Then we got on the road and ended up in game day traffic. Not sure why none of us remembered about game day...oh, and it was homecoming on top of game day craziness. My middle was having a panic attack over the pictures, but thankfully took advantage of the traffic jam by falling asleep. He woke up a bit better and somehow pulled it together when I bought him candy. (Oh my husband decided to go to some soccer thing that morning and also did not show up at our house in time to leave, so instead texted me that he'd meet us there....and swing by Freddy's to buy something to wear.....)

Knowing all this, you should be very impressed by the shots that were pulled off, but the stress is not over for me. Which one do I blow up and place on that one monumental wall. This is our forever picture, I feel. We will never ever look this way again, and I'm sure I will never replace this family photo once I place it in the frame.

You tell me...remember, it is going to be blown up rather large, so keep that in mind when you give me your feedback.

The first one. I love the full length shot.

I'm torn between the first & last!

Okay - I clicked on them to see them big. :)

Definitely the first one. It's gorgeous!

The second one is just enough out of focus that it would be noticeable on an enlargement. But it would make a gorgeous small print.

The third one is lovely, but I like the first one better because you all are mostly looking at the camera. :)

Happy deciding... SO BEAUTIFUL!

So I love them all!!!! But I would do the first one and have your printer crop it down a little so there is more you and a little less background. And make sure you use a stellar printer for such a lovely shot!!!!

I have a terrible time choosing things like this. I like something about each one. So, my vote is for all of them in a collage frame.

My first instinct was the first shot, so you have all confirmed that for me. Heather, last night I was ready to do the collage approach since I couldn't decide.

Jennifer, I was going to order the shot through pictage and I was told I should crop because....well, that is what a photographer friend told me. Do you all think Costco prints things out just as well as a high end sight like pictage?

Costco is okay. Just don't do the one hour photo, and never print black and whites there. The best printer, in my opinion, (if you're having them shipped to you anyway) for non-professionals is Mpix.
Need your address for Christmas cards! : ) Can you email me?

OK, sorry I have a different opinion to confuse you. My fav by far is the middle close up. But I see what Sally is saying about the focus. So between the other 2 I like the last one best. I guess because your smile is better and the 1st one your smile is more cheesy (only a sis can say this ;)). But I was looking more at you than the others. But all of them are very great!

My instinct was the first one as well, because all of you except Aren have really great smiles. And Aren is at the age where his little funny face he is making is just adorable!

I use Costco for all my photo printing and am always very pleased with the results. I just had some 11x14 nature photos printed there for Christmas presents and they look fantastic.

Well, the full length shows all of you, whereas the other one seems more personal.

I agree the mpix.com is the way to go for printing. I hear from too many people that they print their things too dark (and I've experienced it with Christmas cards). However, maybe they are more careful if it's a large print?
